About the Air Cadets
The Air Training Corps (ATC), part of the RAF Air Cadets, is a UK-based youth organization supported by the Royal Air Force. It offers young people aged 12-20 opportunities to develop leadership, teamwork, and citizenship skills through activities related to aviation, adventure training, and the wider RAF.
Air Cadet squadrons are staffed by voluntary staff, civilian instructors, administrative staff and a civilian management committee, typically comprising parents of cadets. All are volunteers, even those in uniform, and comit their time outside of their day-to-day life. Please consider this in terms of turnaround of enquiries.
The Air Cadets website is the official and authoritative source of information about the cadets, offers information about being a cadet and answers questions including meetings (parade nights), costs, uniforms, types of activity and training, ranks and more. The site also offers advice for anyone interested in becoming an adult volunteer and information for parents and carers. See also the 'Joining FAQ' on this site for answers to many common questions.
